Naomi Grant

Naomi Grant is the author of Waiting for the Other Shoe, a short literary novel told in interlinked vignettes about a woman raised to brace for disappointment—and what happens when waiting gives way to choosing.

Her work is wry, precise, and attentive to the small moments where meaning accumulates: domestic scenes, silence, misalignment, and the quiet adjustments that follow loss. Waiting for the Other Shoe explores emotional inheritance, vigilance, and the possibility that peace—chosen carefully—is neither passive nor dull.

Naomi is an editor for a monthly magazine published by a nonprofit and has worked as a freelance editor and book designer. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post and Mamalode, and her photography has been published in Backroad Portfolio.
